12 Days of Christmas~ Day 3 {Hot Chocolate Mix}

Welcome to Day three of our Christmas Crafts and Party Favors for Kids. Today's project is a great party favor or gift! Anyone can jump in and help stir up the ingredients for this super yummy powdered mix. This recipe is from my Mother-in-law, Mimi who has been making this for years and we use this mix every Christmas morning to make our hot cocoa and eat sausage rolls by the fire place while the kids open presents.

SO onto the recipe, which can easily be cut into half if you don't have a large enough bowl to mix it all at once. WARNING there is A LOT of mix when all put together!!

11 Cups of Dry Powdered Milk
4 Cups of Chocolate Milk Mix
2 Cups of Powdered Coffee Creamer
1 1/2 Cups of Powdered Confectioners Sugar

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl then transfer to a air tight container until ready to use.  When you are ready to make a cup of hot cocoa, simply mix 1/3 Cup of Hot Cocoa mix with approximately 8oz of very hot water.  Easy Peasy!

To give as gifts I use regular mouth pint size mason jars with the lids and rings. I fill these jars up with 1 1/3 Cups of mix each. This will give your recipient approximately 4 cups of hot cocoa. Now for the decorative packaging, I am a bit excited because I actually made a printable collection to go along with today's project. You will find a recipe card, circle label and a gift tag FREE to download on Scribd, which you can find HERE. This is my first time uploading to Scribd, so I hope I did it right...eeek!

Print out the recipe cards and send them in your holiday cards. Print out the circle label on adhesive label paper, cut and place on the lid of your mason jar. Print and cut out the matching gift tag that has directions on how to make a sweet cup of cocoa and VOILA!

I will be back on Monday with Day 4 in our series. Have a fabulous weekend!!
Hugs,
Pam
