I recently entered the Sterling Vineyards "Foodie Movie" contest. In short you where to take your favorite food themed movie, create a get together making sure to incorporate the feel of the movie and pair Sterling Vineyards wine with the food you would be serving. Well I didn't win, but I did have a fantastic time at my party!
I chose the movie "Mystic Pizza" and who better to watch this 80's movie with then your girlfriends.
I must say this is one of the easiest gatherings I have put together. Completely relaxing, just chilling with the girls, pizza and a glass of wine. Fabulous! Instead of leaving the pizzas in one big round I cut them up and stacked them on glass cake stands and set up everything buffet style. By doing this there was more room on the table to have a big bowl of salad, the wine, glasses and plates. Plus this is so much more appealing with the different levels and layers.
Sterling Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc was absolutely perfect with pizza, everyone commented on what a delicious wine it was!
After eating, everyone was offered their own popcorn box full of buttered popcorn and small boxes of candy. We all have a thing for popcorn and Junior Mints! Party Starters's popcorn boxes of course ;)
For dessert I took items right of the Mystic Pizza menu, fresh apple pie and cheesecake. FYI Mystic Pizza, the movie was inspired by the actual Mystic Pizza restaurant in CT.
I love party favors and since the meal for this get together was inexpensive I could splurge and give each of my friends a bottle of Sterling Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc to take home. I adorned each bottle with a custom tag that matched the invitations and party decor. A fabulous 80's foodie movie GNO!
Hope this inspires you to have a get together soon, dinner and a movie...what could be easier?!
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Pam

Love all the details, you did an amazing job! xoxo
I have the same popcorn containers from Target, which ironically enough, have never had popcorn in them. We end up popping a ton of the stuff that we serve in a humongous bowl, meanwhile the actual popcorn containers hold M&M's, dry cereal, peanuts, raisins, etc. To get more info please visit www.plagiarismdetect.com.
