Inspiration For My Future Office Space

We are in the midst of trying to find our forever home. I have been having fun "pinning" decorating ideas for the different spaces we would love to have in our new place. This is what is inspiring me for my future office space.

I am so into everything in this space by Inspiration & Design. The bold stripes, the "plus" symbol pattern, the black and white popping off the wood and the little bits of green from the plants. I am also completely crushing on this blog and so wish I could read what she is saying.

So with these photos in mind I created a little inspiration board of items I would love to see in my future office space.

1. I found these fabric shower curtains that could easily be turned into regular window curtains with a little DIY love. "Plus" symbol curtain from Target  ~ Bold Striped curtain from Target

2. I already have this rug and wouldn't mind picking up another one for only $19. Polka Dot Rug from Ikea

3. Since I was in high school I have had a thing for big clocks. I adore this one and not only think of it as a functional piece, but also as artwork.  Black and White Clock from Ikea

4. I have a desk that I have my computer set up at, but I would really love a small table and set of chairs that can be used when the kids want to come in and create with me. Table and Chairs set from Ikea

5.  Just a little piece of artwork that I came up with and will have printed once we do move. "Dream + Create" Poster by Pamela Smerker Designs (coming to the shop Summer of 2014)

6. A fun garland that when I first saw it, I knew I had to have it! This little bit of party will go perfectly in my space. "Cross + Plus" Garland by The Flair Exchange

Of course I am a huge lover of bright colors, so with this design I can throw in some fun chair cushions or even just a big arrangement of fresh flowers. I can't wait to get moving, quite literally!

Behind the scenes of my 40th birthday!

This past weekend my friends and family came together and celebrated my 40th birthday. While my husband and best friend hosted the party, they allowed me to help with the design and decorating process. This might have been the best gift, being able to design a party the way I wanted it, with all of the details and elements I love!

I chose the theme "Upgrading to 4.0", for two reason...one technology has really helped me grow as an artist over the past 4 years. Second, it sounds much better to upgrade then to just get old!

My absolute favorite color is green, apple green and lime green to be exact. I also love bold black and white stripes right now, so the combination of the two were a must! Even though I am not a total girlie girl, I wanted a touch of bling. I had Carmen from The Flair Exchange create a tassel garland for the party and it was one of my absolute favorite decorations!! I can't wait to show you as I am completely hooked on these now!!

I created a few sketches for Dawn and I to play with. The sketches also helped my cake artist, Renee of Astonishing Cakes to know what I wanted. One of my biggest requests was a HUGE cake, even if most of it was fake, I wanted it to be BIG!!

Be sure to stop in next week as I will be sharing all of the details of the party including photos! This was truly the best birthday party I have ever had!!
