PS Designs AS SEEN IN Features Winter 2014

Last week was a great week here at Pamela Smerker Designs and I just had to share the fun news!

My navy quatrefoil crayon box was featured in a styled shoot in BRIDES magazine (April/May 2014 issue). The credits do say "D & P Celebrations because the issue had gone to print before our company was split and the boxes came back to Pamela Smerker Designs. Either way a FUN feature, that I am proud of!! These NEW "Crayon Boxes" will be available in the shop next week along with many more products in new patterns & color choices.

I adore working with Rebekah from A Blissful Nest. You might recall the yellow striped mini gable boxes of mine that made an appearance at the BEAUTIFUL Butterfly birthday party she threw for her daughter Lauren's 2nd birthday? Time has flown by and I was thrilled to be apart of Lauren's 5th birthday party, all about horses! This party will be featured in the next month or so in several printed magazines!!

Last but certainly not least, my original artwork has been used to create this ADORABLE little boys t-shirt by Michele Brown of Sweet Threads Clothing. What is even more exciting is that we are going to create a whole party around this shirt... TOTALLY excited to share that one this Summer!! Stay tuned!! For now, be sure if you have a special little boy in your life to buy this shirt for him... I wish I had one!!! OH and I heard a girl's version is in the works!!!

Looking forward to many more of these AS SEEN IN posts. Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you!!

For A Special Teacher

I love designing my party favor boxes, especially with amazing designer labels created by my dear friends. So you can image how excited I was when I saw that my dear blogging friend Rebekah of A Blissful Nest had created a free collection of teacher notes and matching party circles. These adorable free printables have the warm feeling of fall, yet are perfect all year long!

My kids start back to school this week, so what better gift for my daughter to give her new 1st grade teacher then a set of cute note cards and a Petal Box full of tasty little treats!

I was seriously thrilled when I saw that Rebekah had incorporated a Houndstooth pattern into her design. I just recently picked up a collection of different colors in Houndstooth for Fall and Winter to use for my boxes. As you can see they matched up perfectly and really gave my little Petal Boxes some texture.

Pam's DIY TIP: First print out a sheet of party circles. Cut one party circle out with your regular 2" circle or scalloped circle punch. Then using a 1" circle punch (or whichever size matches) cut out the inner party circle design. Apply foam tape or dots to the back of your inner circle and attach it right over the top of your larger circle in the center. This really give your tags, cupcake toppers or labels an extra pop! Try mixing and matching your inner and outer circles as well, they don't have to be matchy matchy!!

A big thank you to Rebekah for sharing her amazing talent with all of us. I hope you find a use for these fabulous note cards and party circles. The apple designed note cards would work great for a Thanksgiving Hostess gift along with one of my coordinating Petal boxes with a votive candle inside!! Always thinking people always thinking!! :)

Come on back tomorrow for a Christmas Party Blog Hop!!
Hugs,
Pam
