Create My Party by Truly Chic Inspiration {Entry #8}

Happy Thursday!
Today's Create My Party entry is by one of my Bestie blogging and Twitter friends, Melissa from Truly Chic Inspiration.  Melissa and I share a lot in common, so it was really fun to see what she came up with for my party!

Here is Melissa's party proposal in her own words:

Cupcake Flavors/Ideas~

Cupcake #1 source: Celebrations.com  This recipe seems a little complex, but I had to post it because it looks perfect!!! Any type of frosting would work, just make it green! For the guests have the chocolate shaving ready to top or let them make the shavings.

Cupcake #2 source:
Gather around the table  Oreos!!! Can't go wrong!  Plus simple for you and your birthday guests- Frost cupcakes with regular white buttercream. Crush 1-2 oreos and sprinkle on top.

Cupcake #3 source:
All things cupcake Gotta have a Keylime cupcake!!!  Who wouldn't wanna put this together and garnish with lime?!?!?

Cupcake#4 source:
Saint Cupcake Tradition chocolate & chocolate buttercream frosting. Then of course garnish with confetti birthday sprinkles!

Decor must haves~

Coolest Cupcake Stand right!?!?! source: here.  Would make for a fun DIY project

Flowers!!! Gotta have fresh flowers- even a small amount in my opinion bring a warm elegent feeling.

Paper Lanterns- very inexpensive and can be spray painted any color.  I picture them hanging over the cupcake/cocktail table.

Flower napkin rings- source: here Another fun DIY project!  These don't have to be used as napkin rings, try them on the base of the guests drink glasses or simply set around the cupcake table.
Signature Drink ~

Pam's Appletini

1 1/2 oz Smirnoff® Green Apple Twist vodka
1 oz DeKuyper® Sour Apple Pucker schnapps
Stir ingredients together with crushed ice in a cocktail/martini glass, and serve.
Drink source: here

I soooo think you need to drink out of your BIG glass!! You are the Birthday girl ;)

To add in your love of music....How about garnish your drink!  Add this to fruit or fruit peel in your signature drink. Simple & Cute!

  Happy Early Birthday Pam!!

Thank you so much Melissa for entering your proposal, I love it all!A big thank you to all of YOU who have been following my blog and checking out all of these amazing entries! I still have a couple more, so stay tuned!
Hugs,
Pam

Create My Party by Crossing The Bugger-Dixon Line {Entry #7}

Another AMAZING "Create My Party" Entry today. This one is by Jenny from Crossing The Bugger-Dixon Line (great name for her blog too since her last name is Dixon!).

Here is Jenny's entry in her own words:

It's Pam's Birthday from Party Starters and she wants US to create HER fabulous Cupcakes and Cocktails Party!  I wanted to create a romantic, elegant, modern, and chic party for Pam. Here are a few ideas if I was designing her birthday party...

Colors: Cream, gray, and leafy green. I would use gray and cream as the main colors and leafy green as an accent color to be highlighted in the flowers (love the use of kale here and the leaf wrapped vase), green ribbons on the backs of chairs, and gorgeous Emma Leaf cupcake wrappers.

Damask (a must for Pam!): found throughout the party in gray/cream napkins, the invitation, and menus.

Decor: Gray and cream poms floating down over the main table. Sheet music inspired circle garlands hanging behind the bar. This cream colored crocheted tablecloth for Anthropologie would be beautiful!. Sheet music wrapped votives lining the tables, bar area, and cupcake station for a romantic, soft look.

Invitation: Something like this gray damask invitation from Jean M. I would love to see the name of the party "Cupcakes and Cocktails"  highlighted in sage green. I would use this design to create menus and party favor boxes.

The cupcake station would feature vanilla almond, dark chocolate with raspberry filling, and triple chocolate brownie cupcakes. Icings would be kept simple: butter cream, chocolate, and cream cheese. The toppings would include caramel, dark chocolate sprinkles, silver crystal sprinkles, nuts, and dark and white chocolate shavings. A framed menu (in gray damask coordinating with the invitation) would be on the table displaying the dessert options. The cupcake wrappers would be Emma Leaf Cupcake Wrappers, simple yet would bring in some color and texture. Other desserts on the table would include frosted sugar cookies, chocolate dipped oreos, and homemade marshmallow squares.

Cocktails: Three signature drinks would be offered, A "Trienta y Ocho Mojito", Lime Cosmopoli-Pam, and a Chocolate Pam-tini. I would also offer an assortment of wines and beers that compliment the desserts so that there are a few less sweet drink options.  Again, the bar would have a gray damask framed menu displaying the drink choices.

Favors: Cream boxes filled with a cupcake mix for guests to take home. The box would have a sage ribbon and the gray damask "Thank you" label on the top.

If there are comfortable couches or big chairs for guests, I thought gray ruffled pillows would be the perfect finishing touch.

So that's your party, hope you like it! Happy Birthday Pam!

Love, Jenny

Create My Party by Beyond The Decorations {Entry #2}

I can't begin to tell you how much fun seeing these party proposals have been for me to look at. Today is yet another absolutely amazing inspiration board with TONS of ideas, right down to all the recipes I would need if I created this party. Bronwyn from Beyond The Decorations has out done herself explaining every little last little detail.
Here to tell you all about it is Bronwyn:

OK what I would do for Pam's party if she was to hire me. I hope it provides some inspiration to her and others and of course if she uses an idea or 2 that would be awesome.

Ok here are the must haves…

1. Candles: Why these candles. She love music and so these candles are a must. Sold at Pottery Barn.
2. Damask. I chose black so her colors green and yellow will pop off of it.
3. I chose these bowls versus plates so stray cupcake toppings would not fall to the floor. They can be found at Sur la Table
4. Party favor idea…green damask. Find these at Favor Studio
5. It is s cupcake party so snazzy cupcake wrappers are a must. Daisy Days has many wrappers to choose from along with other fun things for any event.
6. This is another favor idea. Cupcake recipes neatly packaged in a box. Why not take home your favorite flavor? The idea cam from P is for Party
7. This is another Pottery Barn item. I would have this near the entry way, hanging above a small table with cute, damask, green, yellow and grey note cards and a pen so the guests can write birthday wishes to Pam and then hang them up. This can be reused for any event and made to fit any decor all year round. A great find and piece to have, so versatile.
On to other party details.
The damask fabric would be the back drop of the cupcake bar. The table would be covered in a lovely grey, tablecloth. I would place grey napkins that were rolled, tied with a yellow ribbon. The napkins would be placed in a silver boat-shaped tray.
If Pam was near me I would allow her to use any of my vintage green dishes. These are just a few, one of each style I have.

Martini glasses, champagne flutes and margarita glasses would be turned upside down so  cupcakes can be placed on the foot of the glass. Varying heights of the glasses would make for a nice display. The candles could be placed on the glasses as well.
Other silver dishes, platters and cake stands would be used as well.
Another favor idea is to place a cupcake that was not part of the party in a martini or margarita glass, wrap in cello and tie with green and yellow satin ribbons. If this was my party I would personalize each glass for my guest with a lil painting.
Now for the good stuff. What on earth is she going to serve? Outside of some basic, standard cupcake flavors that you may want to have on hand (plain chocolate, vanilla, red velvet) here are some fun flavors to add. Click on the flavor to get the recipe!
Dark Chocolate (this is because she loves chocolate)
Lemon with Raspberry filling (this is the yellow flavor)
Pumpkin (this flavor because she has a fall birthday)
Key Lime Pie (this is the green flavor)
Frosting:
Cream Cheese Add some bourbon for a twist to the flavor!
Raspberry Frosting This will work great with both the lemon and chocolate cupcakes.
Lemon Cream Cheese
Dark Chocolate Ganache
Butter Cream
Toppings:
Cinnamon, lime candy wedges, sprinkles (because they are so fun), chocolate flakes, mini peanut butter chips, fresh raspberries, limes, lemons, hazelnuts, and dried cranberries (this is my choice for the pumpkin cupcakes).
Now we need some cocktails for this shindig…
To go along with the party colors here are several yellow cocktails.
I love fall and this is a nice warm drink that has fall written all over it… and since Pam has a fall birthday this is a great option to have as well.
Crock Pot Wassail
2 quarts apple cider
1 cup pineapple juice
½ cup honey
3 sticks cinnamon
2 whole cloves
1 whole orange cut into rings
Brandy
Wash orange, cut off each end and slice.
Place all ingredients into crock pot, except brandy. Place in orange slices and let them float on top.
Cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours. You want the juice to be completely hot and the flavor of cloves and cinnamon to have permeated. Ladle into mugs. If you choose to have brandy, add a shot of brandy into the mug before ladling in the cider. Keep on low when serving, warm will not keep it hot enough.
Of course there has to be champagne and sparkling wine. It is a celebration and all celebrations need a toast or two!
A mojito will be a nice refreshing drink and the mint adds a nice splash of green to it.
I would use colored sugars to coat the rims of my glasses to make it fun and different. Green and Yellow sugar of course.

Thank you Bronwyn, this was amazing!!

SO, have you been inspired to "Create My Party"? There is still plenty of time. Entries must be received by November 1, 2010.... What are you waiting for check out all of the details HERE

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,
Pam
