MY LIFE SQUARED {9.1.14-9.15.14} EVERYDAY LIFE

Here is "My Life Squared", some of the moments I captured over the past few weeks. 

Since school has started back up I have been able to do a bit more creative stuff. Here are some boxes I created with a beautiful watercolor print. These were part of a nautical wedding photo shoot and I can't wait to see how everything turned out!!

My oldest son, Tyler and I have started making fun little felt creatures called Squatles. Tyler creates some of the "nerdy" designed Squatles while I create some of the "cutesy" Squatles. Take a look at our little blog as well as our Etsy shop.

In addition to our Squatles we will be adding other fun felt creations. Here is a 4' bunting that fits perfectly across a front door, we will also have 6' and 8' lengths available in October 2014!! I am personally in love with this particular color scheme of blush, charcoal, oatmeal and mustard, it screams Fall to me.

For the rest of the month I will be creating some more fun watercolor boxes for a big wedding event that I will be sharing more about mid October. I will be taking a short trip to Iowa to see family, which I will be sharing on Instagram so follow along over there. Last, I will be creating a ton more felty goodness with Tyler for the Squatles shop and Pumpkin Fest here in Littleton which is the second weekend in October.  (more details on that later as well).

My Life Squared Summer 2014 {Everyday Life}

Here is "My Life Squared", some of the moments I captured over my Summer break. 

Most of our Summer has been spent packing, moving and now unpacking. For the 4th of July we took a break and relaxed sitting on the edge of our neighborhood lake to watch fireworks with friends. The view at sunset was incredible! 

We were thrilled to finally get the keys to our new home and celebrate...

... and unpack (btw we are still unpacking).

I had promised my kids that they could pick out whatever color of paint they wanted their rooms to be and they could help paint. So far we have tackled my daughter's room. She picked out this gorgeous peach color by Pantone called Nude. Can't wait to show you how it turned out! 

We recently celebrated our Corbin's 15th birthday. I bought one of those small mylar balloon, removed the stick at the bottom and used the top to decorate a SB frapp for the birthday boy.

Corbin got to choose where we would go out to dinner for his birthday and once again he picked Mongolian BBQ. 

For dessert he wanted my chocolate cake with buttercream frosting (colored a pretty minty blue shade). 

Looking forward to seeing what the end of the summer has in store for us! Hopefully one more adventure before the kids go back to school.

My Life Squared {February 2014}

Here is "My Life Squared", some of the moments I captured over the past few weeks. 

 I can't believe how fast February has gone. So much has happened! 

My best friend Dawn moved to Florida. A group of friends took her to Canvas and Cocktails where we painted a scene from Paris. OH how I miss this girl. Dawn has also been my business partner over at D & P Celebrations. With her moving along with some other personal life changes I have stepped away from D & P although I am still a contributing designer. Dawn and I wanted to keep our Blog Sisters series going as well as share fun ideas and diys so, PSMIYO is back after a year long break. Hop on over and see what we are up to www.psmiyo.com.  I am now concentrating more on Pamela Smerker Designs and all of the fun paperie and designs that goes along with it! 

The week before Valentine's Day my daughter had a Daddy & Daughter dance at school. Seeing these two all dressed up for a date night made my heart melt. This little girl of mine has no idea how lucky she is to have such a wonderful Daddy. Love them!! 

Since Daddy and Daughter had a special night, I made sure my boys and I had some fun too! We went out to dinner then went and saw Catching Fire. I adore my boys and try to embarrass them as much as possible. 

Al and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this month. Over the past few years he has been reading the War Hammer series of books. When he was a kid he loved painting models and recently mentioned that he would like to get back into painted some War Hammer pieces. When I was a kid my little brothers painted model cars and I was always jealous that I didn't have one to paint. I loved the tiny pieces and how you put them all together to make something cool. SO I thought it would be fun for Al and I to go buy a set of models so that we could as a family all have a model to paint. This is my guy, I call him Little Dude. Al showed me how to figure out all the pieces that go to him and how to clean them up and assemble them before you start painting. So far so good, Little Dude is primed and ready for details now. Wish me luck! 

I was head of the Valentine party for my daughter's class and I brought a fun project for them to do during the party. Each kiddo created a birthday card that will be sent to a child spending their birthday in the hospital. This will be done through the Confetti Foundation, a wonderful non profit started by one of my friends. Please check them out! 

Last but not least a project that I have been working on for literally months! An ABC book for my friend Maria's little boy. I illustrated all of the pages and am in the process of putting this into a DIY kit to be sold in the shop soon. Just have to work out some of the details, which I will hopefully be sharing soon!! 

WOW that just a tad bit of what has been happening. I will be sharing an awesome Cafe Mocha recipe my son has been playing with. He says it tastes like Starbucks so check that out on Thursday.

My Life Squared {12.20.13 - 1.9.14}

Here is "My Life Squared", some of the moments I captured over the past several weeks. (Holiday Break)

My daughter had a Beanie Boo themed Christmas. I just might be addicted too! Come on, look at those big eyes!! 

On the 28th our oldest turned 17. For his birthday dinner he wanted The Cheesecake Factory, no complaints here! 

On the 4th we had a Beanie Boo themed sleep over birthday party for Aly and one of her friends. Who knew Beanie Boos loved Paris and fashion??

On the 6th we celebrated Aly's 9th birthday at her place of choice, Texas Roadhouse. Yes, my daughter wanted to go there for the Mac-n-cheese and most of all, to ride on the saddle and be sung to. Goofy girl!

Lots of board games over break, even our dog Gracie wanted to play. What better way to end the long break, Christmas and two birthdays. Glad things are getting back to normal. I am exhausted!

My LIfe Squared { 12.06.13 - 12.12.13 }

Here is "my life squared", some of the moments I captured this week.

It has been SO cold here the last week that some chicken noodle soup sounded wonderful. My Mom made homemade chicken noodle soup when I was a kid and I loved it, although it took her most of the day. She made her own stock, made her own egg noodles and so on. Since I don't have time or desire to be in the kitchen all day I came up with this easy recipe. 

Quick & Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

1 Rotisserie Chicken

2 cans of Chicken Broth (or boxes) of 48oz each

1 stack of celery chopped

2 or 3 large carrots chopped

1 package of Buitoni Fettuccine

1 cup of White Instant Rice

Salt and Pepper to taste

Combine broth, celery & carrots in a large pot, over high heat bring to a boil. Cut rotisserie chicken (I only use the breast meat, personal choice) into chunks. Cut pasta in half (I dislike long noodles in my soup, too sloppy). When broth and veggies are bowling add the rice, noodles, and chicken. Cover and turn heat to low for 10 minutes then serve.

My weekend sewing project. Made myself and Aly "Foxy" sweatshirts. 

Christmas shopping with my Tyler. BTW he didn't find a thing and is still on the hunt! Nothing like waiting until the last minute like his mama. 

Every week I meet Dawn (my bestie and business partner) at either Target or Starbucks. This week it was at Target (which has a Starbucks), discussing new ideas and products for D & P Celebrations. I LOVE our meetings!! 

Tyler's teacher entered one of his videos into a Film Festival contest. He wasn't chosen, but the producer said he loved the video and thought it was funny! Ty's style is dry humor, think Monty Python or Kids in the Hall.  Here is the link to his video "Karma".
