Tasty Treats Thursday {Chocolate Cake}

So my birthday is only a month away (well a month from yesterday) and there is nothing I want more on my birthday then a big piece of homemade chocolate cake with a glass of really cold milk. OK, there is one more thing I want...Black Bottom Cupcakes...those are my absolute favorite cupcake in the world. SO for today's tasty treat I wanted to share those two goodies. While I haven't tried these recipes, the photos are making my mouth water! I WANT!!!

This photo is from Martha Stewart Living and you can find the directions and recipe HERE!  I seriously want this for my birthday with a couple of these fun flags made by Laurel at Go Against the Grain.

Here is a gorgeous cake with her flags in them. SO COOL!!! Actually my husbands birthday is at the end of this month and those flags would be perfect for his favorite cake, Carrot Cake with cream cheese frosting. I think these flags would be the perfect way to decorate a man cake! Ummm Laurel, we need to talk!!

OK, the more I look at this photo the more I am wanting these...serious craving going on and I am not really sure I can wait much longer to have one of these babies in my mouth! Um yeah, I see baking in my near future!

I found this photo and recipe over at a sweet little blog called Bake Me More. I love it!! Her recipe is pretty much the same as mine, except I make homemade chocolate cake, not a boxed mix.
This incredible cupcake is basically a chocolate cake with a chocolate chip cheesecake center. YUMMY!!!

What is your favorite birthday dessert? Have something unique that you put your candles in? Leave a comment and let me know..I would love to hear about it!
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Pam
