THE TFIOS Party Of The Year!

I am so pleased to announce that the Summer issue of Polka Dot Balloon magazine is out. Jam packed full of bright and cheery parties and celebrations for all ages. I must say I am a bit partial to one party in the magazine and that is my The Fault In Our Stars Movie Premiere Party I created.

I was lucky enough to be able to see a FREE screening last week (May16th). At the end of the movie there was a live stream Q&A with John Green (the author of TSIOS) and Josh Boone (the director of the TFIOS movie).  The movie was absolutely everything I had hoped. The adaptation was done so well and YES, I balled my eyes out. What was even more amazing was that I was seated next to an older man who came to the movie by himself. He thought Josh Boone would actually be there at the theater and possibly sign a DVD he had brought (didn't happen as John and Josh were in TX and we are in CO). This man, let's call him "Bob",  didn't read the book TFIOS and said he "kind of watched" the trailer once. The movie theater served sparkling cider right before the appropriate scene, Bob asked if it had some meaning and I said yes! By the end of the movie, Bob was sobbing and sharing my decorated package of tissues with me. He kept telling me over and over again how wonderful this movie was and that it really touched him as he had just lost his father. I got goose bumps... this movie is truly moving and so very amazing. I won't say anymore as I don't want to spoil it for those of you who are going to go see it, but I warn you... bring tissues!! I can't wait to go again on June 6th and 7th and 8th.....

SO back to my little party feature, head on over to Polka Dot Balloon and virtually flip through the pages of the magazine. The TFIOS party is on pages 45-48. If you haven't seen the little sneak preview post from this party you can see it HERE. Don't forget to grab the FREE printable party squares file while you are there.

DFTBA,
PS

P.S. You can absolutely look at the magazine digitally for free, but don't forget to buy a hard copy to keep forever!

Lucky In Love, A St. Patrick's Day Sweets Table

I have the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented ladies over at Polka Dot Balloon. Each quarter they share with me stories of celebrations they have created for the magazine and I am blown away every time. Today I am so happy to share one of these parties, this one is by Autumn Gadbois a very talented baker and dessert table stylist. Autumn created this stunning table that made my jaw drop! Take a look....

I am so in love with this table, especially this fabulous cake and the gorgeous macarons. I also love the color scheme of green, gold and pink! Thank you Autumn and all of your amazing vendors for sharing such sweetness with us!

Check out the rest of the images from this shoot as well as the story behind it in the Spring issue of Polka Dot Balloon magazine.
