Over the weekend my friend, Cindi had a party and asked if I would help cater. I love parties and I absolutely love decorating for them, so of course I said yes! I made Artichoke Dip, salsa, gaucamole, spicy red raspberry dip, mini chesesecakes and chocolate peanut butter cup cupcakes.
I have always found it helpful to label dishes when you are having a lot of guests. This way people aren't asking around..."do you know what that is?"..."is that spicy?"..."what flavor is that?". First I printed out the names of each dish using my computer using dark red ink and cream cardstock. Then I chose a rustic looking pattern paper for the border, knowing that Cindi had a lot of southwestern dishes that we would be using. Next I punched out the names with an oval punch, punched out scalloped ovals from the pattern paper and then layered to two. I also made little picks for the cupcakes with the type of chocolate candy that was hidden in the middle, dark and milk.
All of the guests commented on this idea and absolutely loved that they could read what each item was, especially the ladies who wanted to stay away from the spicy dips or who loved dark chocolate.
Try this for your next party or if you are short on time, contact us here at Party Starters and we will be happy to make them for you.
Don't forget our Cake Theme Contest is still going on. you might be one of the lucky winners of our newest set of *12 mini cake slice party favors.
