Inspired By Color ~ Citrus Green

I have always been drawn to the bright and crisp shades of citrus green.  For Spring I am saying goodbye to the lovely shade of orchid that was in my logo and saying hello to a fun bright shade of green (I told you like change).

I thought it would be fun to do a little "Inspired By Color" post which includes some Spring items in this lime/apple green shade.

1. If I were to go anywhere for Spring Break I would definitely want to pack up my things in this fantastic apple green suitcase
2. Perfect for Spring, a beautiful lime green shear scarf from Target to dress up any casual outfit.
3. Definitely on my wish list for my next house, a green Kitchen Aid Mixer... LOVE this!
4. Have you seen blogger, OH JOY!'s new party line at Target? These paper cups are perfect for Spring or Summer.
5. OK, I do need this iPhone case... come on it's green!!
6. With Spring comes rain showers and this lovely green Totes umbrella will cheer up any gloomy day.

Don't forget to join me for a Pinterest party tomorrow night along with some of my fabulous friends. We will be pinning all things Spring!! #thinkingspring

Inspired By Color ~ Yellow

I am so ready for Spring, time to open up the windows, do some deep cleaning and organizing. When I think of Spring I think of fresh citrus colors like YELLOW!

1. When I was looking at new iPhones I was tempted to get the Yellow iPhone 5C, so bright and cheery (I went with the 5S because it has a better camera).  iPhone 5C in yellow

2. Flip Flops... I live in these all Spring and Summer...I need these yellow ones!!  Flip Flops from the Gap

3. When I think of Spring I think of cute yellow rain boots and seriously, these are so cute!  Rain Boots from Piper Lime

4. The Springiest of flowers has to be tulips and since I can't seem to keep any flowers or plants alive in my house, these silk ones are perfect! Tulips from Pottery Barn

5. I think I need this light weight scarf. It would be great with a little black dress or with a white t-shirt and jeans! Lemon Lime Scarf from Banana Republic

6. This bedding screams Spring, clean and fresh looking. Love it! Marigold Linens from Pottery Barn

What color, fragrance or food makes you think of Spring?

Inspired By Color ~ Turquoise

My hubby and I are in the middle of reading the book "The Fault In Our Stars". We actually have already listened to the cd version, read by John Green himself (the author). I don't want to spoil it for you in case you haven't read this book, but it is a serious tear jerker. SO good!

I started a Pinterest board with quotes from the book and thought it would be fun to create one of my "Inspired By Color" boards to go along with the book cover, which as you can see is turquoise.

This book has me so inspired that I am planning to create a fun movie premiere party for June 6, 2014. YES, a movie has been made and I can't wait to see it, oh and of course will be bringing a BOX of tissues with me! Keep an eye out for a "The Fault In Our Stars" party inspiration board over on D & P Celebrations in the next month or so.

Inspired By Color ~ Orchid

I thought it was funny that I resigned my logo and blog using Pantone's Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid,  before they even announced it was "the color for 2014". Why do I find this funny? I am for the most part drawn towards citrus colors such as lime, oranges and yellows. For some reason I thought this shade of purple would be a fun color for the winter months. Then I saw the announcement with the Radiant Orchid color swatch and I got all kinds of giddy! It's like I am a trend setter or something HA HA HA HA!!

1. Cardigan from Gap  2. Khakis from Banana Republic  3. Converse sneakers from Target  4. iPhone case from Zazzle 5. Utility Shirt from Banana Republic  6. Tie from Zazzle  7. Polo from Banana Republic

This morning while listening to the radio, the DJ (who is a man) was talking about Pantone's color choice and said they must base the colors purely on female fashion, because his friends nor himself would ever wear a color like Radiant Orchid. This bothered me....I don't believe that colors are gender specific and anyone should feel free to wear any color they feel good in. No one should be judged simply by the color they are wearing.

Did you know that the color pink and purple used to be a masculine colors? Purple was once a sign of Royalty. In the 18th century boys would wear pink, Prince Arthur (third son of Queen Victoria) was painted in a portrait wearing pink. It all seemed to turn around in the 19th century when parents wanted their baby's gender to be known so boys began wearing blue and girls wore pink.

What do you think... should colors be based on gender?
