A Girlie Power Ranger 5th Birthday Party

I am happy to have my blogging friend, Melissa Newell here today to share an amazing party she

created for her daughter's 5th Power Ranger birthday. 

A Little Celebration. Cupcakes and Champagne Included!

What could be better then celebrating with cupcakes, champagne and friends? Here is a little party I put together with my April Ambassador box I received from The Flair Exchange. Take a look...

The Flair Exchange Ambassador kit for April included the "orchid" tassel garland, coordinating 17" confetti balloon and package of confetti. I created the "Dream, Create, Celebrate" poster in black and white and had it printed as a 18" x 24" "Engineer Print" at Staples. The quality isn't meant to be the best, it has a few small smudges, BUT it cost less then $2. I used assorted Copic markers to color in the flowers, framed it and love how it turned out. I also created matching favor tags to go along with my black "Swiss Dots" petal boxes and filled those with the purple foil wrapped Hershey Kisses (dark chocolate). Some other items I used (all found at Target) were rolls of black and white polka dot wrapping paper, white with black polka dotted paper straws, fresh purple tulips & floral decorated cupcakes. I truly love how this turned out and the reason for the little celebration is even better, but I will share what that is later this month.

Inspired By Color ~ Citrus Green

I have always been drawn to the bright and crisp shades of citrus green.  For Spring I am saying goodbye to the lovely shade of orchid that was in my logo and saying hello to a fun bright shade of green (I told you like change).  

I thought it would be fun to do a little "Inspired By Color" post which includes some Spring items in this lime/apple green shade. 

1. If I were to go anywhere for Spring Break I would definitely want to pack up my things in this fantastic apple green suitcase. 

2. Perfect for Spring, a beautiful lime green shear scarf from Target to dress up any casual outfit. 

3. Definitely on my wish list for my next house, a green Kitchen Aid Mixer... LOVE this!

4. Have you seen blogger, OH JOY!'s new party line at Target? These paper cups are perfect for Spring or Summer. 

5. OK, I do need this iPhone case... come on it's green!! 

6. With Spring comes rain showers and this lovely green Totes umbrella will cheer up any gloomy day.

Cake Anyone?

I have been meaning to share both of these cakes for a while now, not sure where the time has gone. My birthday was back in November....geeesh. Better late then never, right?!

Meet my 40th birthday cake. I asked my friend Renee of Astonishing Cakes to create this cake for my party. She completely blew my mind and a few tears were shed.  The top two sections were actually fake, I just wanted a HUGE cake for my party without a ton of left over cake to eat. To see more details from my party check out the feature in the Premiere Issue of Polka Dot Balloon Magazine. 

My hubby surprised me last year with my 41st birthday, which was Renee's cute little version of my 40th cake. Can you say adorable!! I absolutely loved it!! I am spoiled!!

Are you a cake person or would you rather have a pie or maybe ice cream for your birthday.  I would love to know. 

In other news, I just had to share what I have been working on for the past few weeks. The latest issue of Polka Dot Balloon Magazine, The Valentine Mini. Please check it out! Now for a couple of sneak peeks, I don't want to give everything away!

The invitation I created, which will coordinate with PSMIYO's "Darling Dino" printable collection (coming soon).

A bunch of fabric goodies by Ella Jane Crafts, some of which she custom made for me...so thrilled!!

Both of these goodies I found in Target's dollar spot. The metal buckets will be for a project and the plastic "watering can" will be favor containers. I grabbed the watering cans a month ago when they were on clearance for only .33 cents each!! Great deal for a multi purpose favor container!

Now to start putting all of these goodies and the ones coming in the mail together to create a fun filled party. Only 12 more days to do so, I can't wait!!

Over the weekend I had the great opportunity to meet and spend some time with a special party girl that I admire so very much.  Courtney Dial, (soon to be Mrs. Whitmore) from Pizzazzerie has been such an inspiration to me over the past 3 years with her non stop dedication to sharing everything there is to know about throwing a fabulous party. Courtney has recently added book author to her long list of talents, publishing her first book "Push-up Pops".  I was absolutely thrilled that Courtney came to Denver for a book signing and that she not only signed a copy of her book for my own personal collection, but also a copy for one of my fabulous blog readers!!

Toot Your Horn Tuesday {Bellenza}

I have a very special holiday "Toot Your Horn" feature today from Bellenza! Beautiful Valentine themed dessert and drinks table inspiration. 

Here is what Bellenza shared with us :

If you’re surprising a dear bride-friend with a Valentine’s-themed bridal shower with a chic and modern slant, what decorating tips and tricks might you use for the desserts and drinks display?

Our first “must” would be location! Find a spot at the venue where the display is sure to be noticed, and position your table there. 

Then, our second “must” would be lighting! You could opt for dramatic side illumination, as in our example, an overhead chandelier or spotlight, or even glowing candles. Anything to showcase your display.

Then, the rest depends on the styling details. Here, we kept our color focus throughout—a chic red and white motif from the sweet treats to the floral accents, even to the pink champagne!
But don’t forget, guests have to be just as delighted with how your desserts taste as how pretty they look. So, while you may select goodies for their color, shape, and decorations, think of those with delectable flavors as well.

Bridal Shower Luncheon Exclusive Feature

When one door closes another one opens and that is exactly what happened a few weeks ago. I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to create a photo shoot for "The Best Wedding Site Magazine" Issue #3 by Brenda of "Best Wedding Sites" and "Brenda's Wedding Blog".

"Sunny Bird Collection" by Party Starters

For this Bridal Luncheon I created a new line of party products called the "Sunny Bird Collection", which includes, Dress shaped favor boxes (great for holding one French Macaron), Bird picks, Cake slice shaped favor boxes, popcorn boxes and a "LOVE" banner. A fresh Spring feel with it's Robin Egg blue, shades of orange and mint green color scheme. 

For this shoot I had the honor of working with Melissa (from Truly Chic Inspirations) the owner and creator of Tag Me Chic. Melissa made adorable little bird tags which I attached with Robin Egg Blue ribbon to fresh oranges.

I also had the pleasure of working with Susan from Green Eyed Susan again. I used Susan's beautiful and oh so tasty French Macarons. I sent Susan my color scheme and she matched up her edible treats perfectly!

I am extremely excited about my last contributor who is no stranger to Party Starters. Dawn Rumin, my assistant, blog contributor (Tasty Treats Thursdays) and best friend has started her own Etsy shop, Rae Design Studio. Dawn creates custom message boards in a variety of sizes and designs. These message boards are a great addition to bridal and baby showers. Not only a wonderful spot to place advice cards for the guest of honor at the party, but also a great keepsake. I am sure you will be seeing more of her creations here on Party Starters.

The Royal Wedding {Motivate Me Monday}

The royal wedding is fast approaching and I have seen a few free printable collections pop up on the WWW. This gorgeous photo is from Hostess with the Mostess' "Royal Wedding Themed" post  (which includes free printables) and has me motivated to create a fun party to celebrate Prince William and Kate's wedding.
